At the King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC) in Amman 🇯🇴, Dr. Ahmad Shehadeh performed a complex resection of a pelvic and sacral tumor using patient-specific planning and a 3D-CUT resection guide.
The surgery involved 7 cutting planes, with safety margins of 5, 7, and 10 mm, based on preoperative CT and MRI imaging.
A postero-lateral approach was chosen to access the tumor while preserving critical anatomical structures. The custom guide, stabilized with 8 K-wires, ensured secure positioning and precise cutting.
A key moment in the procedure was splitting the guide in two, enabling sequential osteotomies of the sacrum and pelvis and safe extraction of the tumor specimen.
Thanks to this meticulous approach, each step of the resection was executed with confidence, supporting optimal surgical outcomes and future reconstruction.
Our sincere thanks to Dr. Shehadeh and his team for their trust and collaboration on this case.
